DOWNSPIRIT: New Demo Track Posted Online

November 21, 2008

DOWNSPIRIT, the new blues/metal-oriented band formed by SYMPHORCE/ex-FREEDOM CALL guitarist Cedric "Cede" Dupont, has posted a demo track called "Backstabber" on the group's MySpace page.

Joining Dupont in DOWNSPIRIT's current lineup is Mitch Koontz (bass, GODIVA) and Sebastian Dunkel (drums).

DOWNSPIRIT was originally formed in early 2008 by Dupont in order to fulfill his longtime dream of playing in a band that is dedicated to the combination of blues and metal music.

Based in Stuttgart, Germany, DOWNSPIRIT is currently in pre-production for its upcoming debut album, which is expected to be released in mid-2009. "Blending old blues roots with a modern, downtuned guitar-feel, their songs are a mixture of typical bluesy '80s hard rock and a contemporary metal sound, which also includes some electro loops," according to a press release.
